A message from the Cailleach
And Being Love
The Cailleach left me a message last night
scratched onto my window pane with her icy fingernails.
My head couldn’t read it, by my soul knew.
She stopped by to bid me adieu.
The season is shifting so subtly I wouldn’t have noticed
But for her message:
I’m off to the hills for my summer’s rest.
You are in Brigid’s care now.
Much love in the darkness,
— Your Calleiach
On this early February morning, snow continues to fall,
It doesn’t look like she’s left at all.
It is time to welcome Brigid
and the light she brings
into the darkness,
melting cold icy things.
Her sprinkles sparkle on piles of snow.
Her close breath warms me to my marrow.
May your burning arrows
rekindle the flame of my heart,
And light the way forward
for I cannot see the path ahead.
I’ve zipped up my boots and shouldered my pack,
and I’m ready to follow your lead.
My sweet one, Brigid reminds me,
You already know the way.
I do know that the way forward is love.
Finding love. Being love. Spreading love. Bringing love.
An essential path forward, but not an easy one.

But the journey will be lighter together! Join us on Valentine’s Day morning to share the love with sister Creative Resisters.
We’ll talk about love, starting with self love, and create a heart garland with the names of people we want to remember and surround with loving energy.
I’ll be creating hearts on my garland to remember and honor the names of some of the many people who lost their lives in 2026 at the hands of ice agents on the streets or in ice detention facilities:
